Lucy Peevor and Sonia Owen set up Star Loans & Finance Ltd on the 1st September 2005, and within their first year of trading have enjoyed a very successful growth in business levels. Star Loans & Finance Ltd predominantly deal in second mortgages. This allows highly trained and experienced staff to focus on what they are good at, with the end results being very satisfied customers.

Being specialists in this one area brings with it a fast turn around time for completions, strong broker relationships and good conversion rates. With Star Loans & Finance Ltd increasingly good service and professionalism, the company has received tremendous support from its brokers and introducers.

Star Loans & Finance Ltd has a full extensive lending panel, covering the whole of the market; the company is also directly authorised by the FSA, which allows them to offer protective insurance to consumers covering accident, sickness and redundancy and life cover, without providing advice. So what are the backgrounds of the founders of Star Loans & Finance Ltd?

Sonia Owen and Lucy Peevor

Director - Lucy Peevor has eight years secured loans packaging experience, all of which were spent with a large company based in Birmingham. It wasn’t long before her reputation as an exceptional underwriter was noted by senior management and Lucy was promoted to office manager. Her duties included running three teams, staff management, processing mortgages and secured loans and customer relations. Last September, Lucy made the decision to leave as she felt she could not progress any further. It was at this time that she joined forces with Sonia and set up Star Loans & Finance Ltd.

Director - Sonia Owen has been in the secured loan industry for fifteen years, working for Beneficial Bank, HFC Bank, Welcome Finance and SPPL. Sonia was a branch manager with Welcome Finance for five years and then pursued a career with SPPL as Accounts Manager for the Midlands and South West of England. After two years with SPPL, Sonia decided it was time to move on and together with Lucy set up Star Loans & Finance Ltd.

With extensive growth which has continued for the first year, Star Loans & Finance Ltd have moved to larger premises on 1st September 2006. Star Loans & Finance Ltd is a fresh new company looking to expand in every way, within their long term business plan, but are still keen to keep the friendly working conditions within the office and the relationships they have built up with all their introducers.
